The Race2Nowhere is a 1 Day Ultra Marathon Mountain Bike event that forms part of the R2N Events family.

By combining some of the best (and challenging) trails of the annual Ride2Nowhere event (3 Day MTB Stage Race), riders can experience the beautiful and proper mountain biking terrain all in one day that McGregor has to offer.

The event was added to the race calendar after the ABSA Cape Epic approached us to use our trails for the 2018 event, seeing that most the the trails are on private land and not open for public use during the course of the year.

It is thus a great event that puts your legs and fitness level to the test for all riders that are preparing for a big stage races in the following year or looking for another personal challenge!

The event offers equal prize money to the Top 3 Men and Top 3 Ladies in the Epic Challenge category and saw some of the top riders in the country competing in the inaugural event in 2017.

Why the #Race2Nowhere?

The event forms part of the R2N events family (@r2nevents), which is annually hosted in the town of McGregor, Western Cape. The first R2N event was established in 2012 called the Ride2Nowhere (3-day mountain bike stage race), which adopted its name from the main road of the town, a local icon, called the ‘Road to Nowhere’ which literally leads into the mountains to a dead-end and basically to nowhere. In 2017 the ABSA Cape Epic announced that they will use the Ride2Nowhere routes for the 2018 event and we then launched the Race2Nowhere, a 1-day Ultra Marathon event.

So, if you missed out on the Ride2Nowhere during the year and you are up for a challenge you can experience the best of what McGregor has to offer all in one day!
